Buah semangka kerap jadi pilihan karena tinggi kandungan air. Selain menyegarkan, semangka juga kaya akan kandungan nutrisi dan vitamin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cSemangka mengandung lebih banyak serat, magnesium, potasium, vitamin. A dan antioksidan lainnya, ditambah lebih rendah gula tambahan dan lemak jenuhnya,\u201d jelas Dawn Jackson Blatner, RDN. Antioksidan pada semangka, juga bantu mencegah penyakit, serta menambah asupan air kedalam tubuh ketika musim panas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cSemangka menyumbangkan nutrisi antioksidan utama, yang mendukung pencegahan penyakit dan kesehatan secara keseluruhan. Ini juga merupakan cara yang baik, untuk menambah asupan air seseorang,\u201d ujar Christina Meyer-Jax, RDN, LDN, ketua nutrisi Proses Standar dan asisten profesor di Northwestern Health Sciences University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Menariknya, 152g semangka sudah mengandung:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Kalori: 45,6 gr<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lemak: 0,2 gr<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Kolesterol: 0mg<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Natrium: 1,52mg<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Karbohidrat: 11,5g<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Serat: 0,6g<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Vitamin C: 12,3mg<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Kalium: 170mg<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Kalsium: 10mg<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Vitamin A: 865 IU<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lycopene: 6.890 mikrogram<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">Selain itu, semangka juga memberikan efek menyenangkan bagi yang menyantapnya. \u201cMakan semangka membuat saya merasa riang seperti anak kecil lagi,\u201d ungkap Kris Sollid, MS, RD, direktur senior komunikasi nutrisi di Dewan Informasi Pangan Internasional. Adapun manfaat semangka antara lain,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Penuhi Nutrisi Kebutuhan Harian<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">Kandungan nutrisi pada semangka, yaitu sekitar 15% dari vitamin C harian seseorang. Selian itu, semangka memiliki vitamin dan mineral yang tubuh&nbsp;butuhkan  agar berfungsi optimal, seperti potasium, vitamin A, dan B6. Senyawa ini juga bisa ditemukan pada buah dan sayuran yang memiliki sifat antioksidan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">Meyer-Jax mengatakan, zat ini juga terbukti menurunkan risiko kanker dan penyakit jantung. Lycopene berfungsi melindungi sel-sel dari kerusakan. Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, lycopene mungkin memiliki efek menurunkan tekanan darah. Semangka mampu penuhi asupan seimbang ini,\u201d jelas Grace Derocha, RDN, CDCES, juru bicara nasional Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">Meyer-Jax merekomendasikan, makan semangka dengan menaburi sedikit garam setelah berolahraga. \u201cKombinasi karbohidrat dan garam sangat ideal untuk mengisi kembali elektrolit dan simpanan karbohidrat yang hilang,\u201d katanya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Menyehatkan Pencernaan<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">Semangka mengandung kadar air yang tinggi dan sedikit serat. \u201cKeduanya adalah kunci untuk menjaga pencernaan tetap lancar, \u201d kata Meyer-Jax. Serat menambah jumlah besar pada tinja, sehingga BAB tetap teratur. Sementara air membantu memindahkan limbah melalui sistem pencernaan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Baik Untuk Mata<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">Semangka juga kaya akan nutrisi yang mendukung kesehatan mata kita secara keseluruhan dan dapat membantu mencegah gangguan penglihatan terkait usia. Secara khusus, ini adalah sumber vitamin A dan C yang baik, serta likopen dan lutein+zeaxanthin, yang merupakan salah satu sumber penting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Meningkatkan Kesehatan Jantung<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Senyawa lycopene tadi, ternyata mampu meningkatkan kesehatan jantung. Hal ini tercatat oleh American Journal of Hypertension pada 2012 lalu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Mengurangi Radang<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cKombinasi spesifik antioksidan, termasuk lycopene dan vitamin C, yang ditemukan dalam semangka, dapat membantu menurunkan peradangan dan kerusakan oksidatif seiring berjalannya waktu,\u201d jelas Derocha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Kulit Menjadi Lebih Baik<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAir dan vitamin A, B6, dan C dalam semangka membantu kulit seseorang tetap lembut, halus, dan kenyal,\u201d kata Derocha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">Vitamin C meningkatkan produksi kolagen, vitamin A membantu memperbaiki sel-sel kulit, mencegah kulit kering dan bersisik, sedangkan vitamin B6 membantu mengatasi kulit berjerawat, serta lycopene dapat melindungi kulit dari sinar matahari.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Meredakan Nyeri Otot<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">Dalam Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry memuat bahwa, atlet yang minum jus semangka mengalami penurunan nyeri otot hingga 24 jam. Jus ini juga membantu menurunkan detak jantung pemulihan mereka.
